Nature

Nature needs a unified and prominent voice to ensure it’s considered across sectors, integrated in to policies and plans, and is funded and resourced well.

Nature needs a unified and prominent voice to ensure it’s considered across sectors, integrated in to policies and plans, and is funded and resourced well.

Cumbria Local Nature Partnership provide this voice, and are the only nature partnership which represents and works across the whole of Cumbria; acting as a hub for nature – focused strategic co-ordination and action.

Our ambition is for a thriving, wildlife-rich, and resilient landscape with healthy habitats that are connected across the county, spanning rural and urban areas, and creating spaces of value to both wildlife and people.

Cumbria Local Nature Partnership:

  • Advocates for nature across sectors and identifies priorities and opportunities for partnership and cross-sector delivery for nature, and for delivery of nature-based solutions for climate resilience/adaptation.
  • Provides strategic oversight of Cumbria’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy via the Board.
  • Is the delivery partnership for Cumbria’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy bringing together partners and stakeholders via the working groups to facilitate delivering and monitoring.
  • Supports development of a shared local approach to natural capital investment and other nature finance opportunities.
  • Organises events and produces resources to support partners and wider stakeholder to take action for nature and help to deliver Cumbria’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy.
