Cumbria Local Nature Partnership recently joined partner organisations for a nature roundtable with Josh MacAlister MP and Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Minister Baroness Sue Hayman at Rosehill Theatre near Whitehaven.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the issues and opportunities around nature recovery in the Workington and Whitehaven constituency and the wider landscape, and the important role that nature plays across policy areas including the economy, net zero, climate adaptation, food security, health and wellbeing, and water security.
There were also some fantastic examples of the work being done by a range of organisations and partnerships around increasing access to nature in the heart of communities, training and skills, and increasing biodiversity, environmental health, and climate resilience through nature-based projects.
