Local Nature Recovery Strategy
Following a series of workshops this summer the Local Nature Recovery Strategy Team have published the draft priorities and measures (actions) that may be possible for different habitat types.
The LNRS priorities and measures establish what the strategy is trying to achieve over the next three to ten years and how we can best aid nature’s recovery.

Local Nature Recovery Strategy Webinars
The LNRS team will be hosting a series of Zoom webinars aimed at a variety of audiences. The purpose of these webinars is to introduce the LNRS to those who may not already be aware of it, explain what nature recovery is and why it is important, and allow attendees to share their views on what they are either already doing to enhance biodiversity or what they would like to see more of.

Spatial Planning Workshops
Cumbria Biodiversity Data Centre, the LNRS team and the Spatial Planning Group have been hard at work developing the opportunity maps for the LNRS, which will show ‘Areas that Could Become of Particular Importance for Biodiversity’. The first draft of this opportunity mapping is due to be completed in September and the team would like to invite you to a workshop to explore this mapping in more detail.
We are hosting three workshops open to anyone interested in viewing this mapping, and a fourth workshop aimed uniquely at land agents, surveyors and foresters. The workshops will allow the team to gather your feedback on the presentation, the accuracy and the functionality of the maps. Each session will be identical to allow you to pick a time and location that works best for you.
